Eragon Book Three Predictions (Book 4 Predictions coming soon!)The book will be coming out September 23, 2008!
Today I thought that I would occasionally do book predictions, not only report on books. One of my favorite series is Eragon. The third book should be coming out in maybe a year. Here are some things I think will happen.
Since I now have over 1000 posts and read both books again, I have new ideas. My old list is below.
1. The Green Dragon Rider is Arya because in Deathwatch in Eragon, he sees a male and female boarding a ship with dragons in the sky.It also would make sense because there hasn't been a female rider mentioned, and there hasn't been a new elf rider for a while. A reason that many people say is that Arya also has green magic, and magic color is the same as dragon color. The color of magic means nothing until you have bonded with the dragon.
2.Oromis and Glaeder will die. They are old and Oromis said that he was lucky to live to train Eragon. They are both crippled as well.
3. Roran. He will save Katrina and get married. He will become ruler of Alagaesia because he has blood of the first human king. He is also a natural leader.
4.Eragon will probably bring someone back from the dead through the vault of souls. The other prediction of Solembum's may have already passed. Eragon got his elf-like strength from under the tree. Some of you may say "It was not totaly beneath the tree," but it doesn't have to be under the roots. It neither says that the weapon is a physical weapon.
5.Murtagh somehow turns good and marries Nasuada. They both like each other.
6. Elva has an important role.
7. Saphira and the green dragon mate.
Just To Clear Some Things Up.
1.The next Dragon is Green because CP said so already.
2.The new book does have Glaeder on the cover.
3. CP did not copy Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, many books/movies have similar plots.
4.The title is Brisingr.
5.This is NOT the last book.
Old Predictions
1. Eragon and Roran get Katrina and defeat the Ra 'zak.
2. The Varden get the green egg.
3. Roran hatches the green egg.
4. Eragon completes his training with Oromis.
5. Eragon and Roran get Rider Swords.
6. The two things Solumbum tells Eragon come true.
7. Murtagh MIGHT turn good.
8. Galbatorix is defeated.

Just a crazy thought
What if Sloan became the next dragon rider, because they never killed him when the Razac knocked him unconscious, and Sloan now hates the empire, (like he always did) and he especially the Ra'zac. He gets all angry at them for capturing Katrina and secritly follows them. And while he's searching for Katrina he finds the third dragon egg. Then he and his dragon go and rescue Katrina. While Eragon's helping Roran capture Katrina they see a Dragon in the sky. Eragon's reaches for his magic but does not release it. Then they see Sloan, they are not sure if he's good or bad but then then they see Katrina and Sloan tells them his story and they make up and Sloan gives Roran and Katrina his blessing. Then together Sloan and Eragon go to complete there training, while they are there Oromis dies and so does Orimis's dragon. Then they go back to the Varden and defeat Galbatorix and Murtagh and Roran becomes king and Roran and and Katrina get married and Sloan and Eragon and there dragon's go on a ship and the story ends.
hey guys i am not so sure about Arya and Eragon falling in love i'm re reading (eldest), for the 500th time and pg. 122 makes me wonder if arya was not in love with Faolin and that is why she does not return eragons love.
This is what I think is going to happen. The green dragon egg is going to hatch for Arya. Since she has green magic that's one of the reason's I think that she's going to be it. Another reason I think Arya is going to be the next dragon rider is because Eragon has a dream and in his dream there's a man in a woman holding hands by a ship and two dragons flying over them. So I think that it's Arya and Eragon holding hands with Sarphina and the green dragon flying over them.
no 1 but eragon can kill galbatorix every1 says that if he faces galbatorix he will face him alone
i think that
1. The last dragon will hatch for Arya
2. Eragon will marry Arya
3. Galbatorix will be killed with the help of Murtagh
4. Roran and Eragon will recue Katrina
i think that murtaugh might be tempted to go bad,and that eragon will finnaly tell arya his feelings about her and eragon will become the new king.

I'm forgetting some characters, but I just wanted you to see how alike they are. It's like a Star Wars plot, with a Lord of the Rings setting, which is pretty cool, and Paolini has enough unique characters and twists to keep you hanging onto your seat.
i agree that brom very well could be related to eragon.most likely his father. the last words he told him could be eragons real name! and whoever said the thing obout people souls being traped inside galbatoriks and murtaugh is a geinus. brom has to come back to life.it just wouldnt be a good story if he didnt.i think somehow saphira (broms's saphira) may come back to life to.either galbatoriks dies and murtaugh is released from the spell marrys nausada and they rule alagasia (you can tell they liked each other)or roran marrys nausada and they rule alagasia. (just a guess) i think the elf lady who makes the swords will decied to make whoever the green dragon rider is a sword and eragon a sword.I also think galbatoriks will invade ellesmira and eragon will be fighting he or murtaugh,next to the menora tree and his temporary normal weak sword gets broken in the heat of battle then he remembers what solumbum told him about finding a weapon under the root of the menora tree and used magic to unburie brom's lost blue sword from under the roots of the menora tree.
maybe brom is with katrina when they go to helgrid to rescue her bc maybe murtaugh raises him from the dead,dosent know what to do with him and remembers eragon and roran will probably come rescue katrina.he knows he cant let brom go but doesnt want to bring him to urabaen bc he still thanks him for killing his evil father so knowing eragon will find him there leaves him at helgrid with katrina.
Has anyone wondered what happend to solan? i mean he wasnt exacally my favorite character but maybe he will play some important role in the end

how do we kknow the egg galbatoriks has is green? i mean shure we all know there is a green dragon but where does it ever say "the green dragon egg was the same egg galbatoriks had"?
the green dragon egg could have come from somewhere else.

remember how somewon said the woman brom loved died bc he loved her? i mean it would make sence if that woman was selina.and morzan found out that brom loved her and she loved him, and got so mad he killed her. of course not before brom and selina had eragon.
all the peices fit together perfectly.the ridle the raven told eragon about father and son both being as blind as bats makes sence now to.
I aslo think brom will come back to life (dont ask me how)i mean didnt somebody say the body is destoyed so is the spirit?well broms body is perserved in a diamond tomb! therefor his spirit is still alive and all it would take is a little magic and,ZAP! he is alive again.
this book had better be good!! paolini dont dissapoint your fans!
p.s. are we shure this is the last book?if it is than it is going to really REALLY thick.
i think the idea that roran cant be the next dragon rider because he dosent have morzans blood is stupid(no offence)because if the therory is correct that brom is actually eragons father then eragon dosent have morzans blood either! personally,i dont think roran will be the next rider for many reasons,but one of them is not because he doesnt have morzans blood! because neither does eragon!!!!!

I Also belive that the varden will get the last egg and I AM HOPEING that Roran or Arya will open the egg. I know that this will not happen but it would be cool if all 3 dragons and Murtagh (I still dont like him though) will kill Galbatorix but like I said pretty impossible im just dreaming I guess :)
Eldest and Eragon are the best books EVER!
For crying out loud people, just because Saphira didn't hatch for Ayra, doesn't mean that the green dragon won't. Dragon's have their own unique personaties and interests. Saphira just didn't think that Ayra was the right match for her, the green dragon might think otherwise.
What if Nasuada becomes the last rider and her and Murtagh get to gether and leave on the boat in Eragons dream, Roran and Katrina lead the Empire, Eragon kills Galbatorix and in doing so kills himself in the process "leaves this land for ever" as fortold by Angela.
I think the green dragon egg isnt the same egg gally has.I think they find it in the spine or something.
The egg gally has could actually be the rock of wach-ya-ma-call-it
with the vault of souls inside disguiesed as a dragon egg so if fallen in the wrong hands they would think it was just a dragon egg and wouldnt try to open it.
I also think Eragon or somewon will become so powerful they will be able to raise people from the dead.And he/she will raise Brom from the dead,who,after gally dies(he has to die you know) will become king of alagasia along side with roran,katrina,nausada,and murtaugh who,after gally dies and the oaths are broken will turn to the (light side)
I also think when Eragon opens the V.O.S.saphira #1 (brom's saphira)will come back to life and together she and Brom rule alagasia together as dragon and rider!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty much i reckon that arya is the next dragon rider because in the 1st book in the battle of farthendur when eragon is flying to the dragon hold with saphira an urgal attacks but arya uses green magic to kill it. we all no that the next dragon is green! also when brom dies he whispers 7 words to eragon so that will come into it. eraogn will find a riders sword under the roots of the meona tree. oh and arya was in love with the elf Faolin who got killed when durza captured arya in eragon. she mentions that he was one of the 2 who died and in eldest has a farth of him in her room and and morning glory to her from him.
remember that nasuada is also royale so maby eragon falls in love with her and she becomes the new rider..
Murtaugh and Galbatorixs are NOT going to try to kill Eragon,because if they killed him Saphira would die to and Galbatorixs wants to re-populate the dragon race which,is not possible without the only female dragon,Saphira.
i beleve that the egg wont hach for roran as i think roran will a actually become the new king (because the skill he led the village with)and the last thing alagasea wants is a second king that can live for ever

i love ur predictions and i think the one about roran and the new dragon is true too. it just seems to fit like that. and it would be cool if the green dragon and saphira would mate. (only if they like each other though) it ius inevitable that oromis would die even though i dont want him to. what about the whole eragon arya love thing???? i think she does like him but doesnt want to distract him. tell my what u think about that!
The person who said that Nasuada, Angela, and Vanir are all Queen Izlandri's kids is an absoulute genious, I NEVER would of thought of that, but you know what it makes perfect sense. I have to admit, that I sort of wish you wouldn't of posted that GREAT idea because I would of been absoutly shocked if it happens in the third book. I never saw that one coming. But I do disagree with that guy on the beach in Eragon's vision being the first Eragon and the second Eragon and Ayra's son, that just doesn't make sense.

9.The Vault Of Souls Will Be Destroyed And Galbatorix Will Lose Their Power.
10. Roran Will Kill 1 Raz'ac And Eragon Will Kill 1.
11.Sloan And Roran Will Either Make Up Or Sloan Will Die.
12.I'm Not Sure If Morzan Or Brom Is
His Father. but i think its morzan Y

And For Gods Sakes Will U People Stop Saying Roran Is The Next Rider.

Eragon cannot, I repeat CANNOT raise someone back the dead my respect for Paolini would drop tremendously if you can raise just someone back from the dead. If someone just dies you can just mutter some words and they come back to life I mean how stupid is that. Eragon might just as well raise from the dead all the Riders who passed away. See what I'm driving at. You can't defeat death. Brom also warned Eragon not to bring someone back from the dead
i think that elva is erago ns sister and same with murtaghs and she will be the next rider because she already has like magic and is blest by saphira and christopher.p said eragon will have some unexpected family and the third rider was in all the books and its a shock but not a big one
There are alot of grammar and spelling issues here, sometimes I can't even read what they're saying. Can everyone please, just be a little more mindful of their spelling and grammar. I know I'm not one to talk, but just make it readable. By the way I love this blog, and it is by far the best blog I've been on. It's so much fun to read your predictions. Some of them have made me change my mind on what's going to happen in the next book. I might even miss doing all of this predictions and stuff, when the third book comes out. Because it's been so much fun. I sure hope Paolini writes somemore books about Algeasia, maybe it will be about Eragon and his wife's (whoever it is) kid, and Saphira and her mate (whoever that it is) hatchling.

Murtaugh better turn good. He's a good guy at heart and Paolini better make him turn good, but I don't think he'll live through the end of the book. As much as I like Murtaugh I think that he should die saving Eragon. Also, why is everyone say that Murtaugh's good, but Thorn is evil. That's jsut stupid. Why would Thorn hatch for Murtaugh if he was evil and if Murtaugh was good that's like saying that Saphira would hatch for Gablitrox.
Here are some theories I have about Roran:
- he will not... i repete WILL NOT be a dragon rider, ok? he going to get married, he is going to settle down, he is going to make a career for himself and his wife, and i am not sure how many women would love for thier husband to be gone all the time and always be fighting battles.
- something will go wrong with Katrina, but in the end they will make up and be all lovey dovey again.
- I think that he will do something heroic that will win sloan's trust. wait- is sloan even ALIVE? well if he is then they will make up so Katrina will still see her dad.
- Brigit will get back at roran for "causing her husband's death" she is constantly mentioning that in the 2nd book, hopefully it is nothing too horific.
Hey all u brilliant people who think that brom is eragons dad and he's gonna get his dad's sword. plz tell me where it says that broms dragon is blue and it would have to B blue for the sword to b blue and y didn't the sword maker at duewelldenvarden say that they had found broms sword? and like i said b4 y would (CP) bring in morzan as his dad then say he wasn't?
And all u bright peeps that think elva is there sister umm....
totally wrong ok think about this eragon is 17 murtagh is 20-21 and elva is 4? o yeah that makes real sense when brom hasn't left carvahall for the last 15 years and morzan has been dead for the last 15 years and selana has been dead for the past 16 years that makes total sense that they are siblings.
Now the question is who is the next rider is id (Elva) or is it (Arya)
Ok think about this elva is 4 to young to even start training let alone wiat for 6 years to pass.
So it has to b arya.
K whoever said that saphira is the last female dragon apparently wasn't paying attention ok here are the possibilites and the facts.
1. Saphira=Female
2. Thorn=Female
3. Green Egg=Male/Female how could murtagh and galbatorix know?
4. There Could Be Other Dragons in Allagasia or in other places like where the urgals came from or where king palancar kame from or even the elves haven.
I think that eragon and Arya get married.
I do not beleive Roran will hatch the egg i think it will be the elf eragon dueled with while he was training and the elf city
two or three short crazy thoughts:
-what if galbatorix is being controlled by someone and is really actualy good
-what if murtagh swore to kill eragon, he gould still help kill galbatorix or if he sweares to eragon to kill galbatorix
what if.... faolin is a FLOWER so he is the flower that he made for arya, and when those urgals were attacking them he thought that he should preserve his life and turn himself into a flower, so arya like dug him out of the ground and stuck him in her sack and then she was captured by durza and all, and then she planted him. so she feels guilty being in a romantic relationship with eragon b/c her lover is still alive.

the green dragon should be the one that arya hatches, but I think that the dragon that saphira and the green dragon's kid should be PINK they said it can be any color of gemstone! so it should totally be pink
I think that when Eragon finds the vault of souls he will gain as much power as galbatorix and crush him in a final battle because he finds galbatorixs name in the ancient language giving him the ability to have power over galbatorix,
cause if you remember that Brom said that if you learn their true name they have complete control over that person
i also thing arya is the final rider and that roran will have a part in the final showdown.
Ok, this is what I think is going to happen. Do you remember that half of Galby's army went into the Spine. And they didn't come out, well there has to be something in the spine that killed them. There's wild dragons in the Spine, not only that, but I think at the last battle the dragons are going to come and help the Varden in the last battle. Do you remember the last battle in Lord of the Rings? How the eagles came and helped them. That's what's going to happen in the Last battle. And after that they are going to give some of there dragon eggs to the dragon riders and the time of the dragon riders will come again.
Ok If lets say Arya dies Eragon Could be strong enough if him and Saphira joined minds and power so that Eragon Could bring back the dead so then he can go and bring back Brom and Broms dragon and defeat galbatorix.
And when the heck does Book three come out
Ok, Eragon's not going to raise anyone from the dead or the book would a desaster. That would be just stupid. Brom clearly told Eragon that you die if you try to raise someone from the dead. So the only only thing that might be okay is that if Sarpina died. It still would be bad but at least that it would be better then if anyone else died and he raised them from the dead. The reason Sarphina is because do you remember that Brom said that without your dragon there's not much to live for. So if she does die then the reason is because that he thought that there was not much more to live for.
People say that Elva going to be the next dragon rider. Come on people get real! Elava's going to be un cursed then she's going to go back to an infant again. And even if she didn't go back to a infant she would still be too young. So get it out of your head that Elva's going to be the next dragon rider.
I think Arya is the new rider, her magic was green and paolini himself that a riders magic matched the color of their dragon. Murtagh and Galbatorix get their power from the vault of souls, instead of letting souls fade away they put them in the vault and get power from them, why else would Galbatorix get a wave of energy when he kills the leader of the dragonriders? plus it said they have 2 swords, one will be Brom's who i also believe is Eragon's father, and Eragon will get his inheritance(Brom's sword) and arya will get the otherone which will be green.
Dragons hiding out in the Spine is a great predictions and that would explain why Galblitrox's army dissapeared. But I don't think they shrunk themselves that jsut sounds weird. Maybe they'll come to fight in the last battle, just a thought.
What i think is gonna happen is dat eragon and roran will find katrina kill the razac and roran will become the next rider and maybe arya will fall for eragon just maybe and of course galbatorix will die and murtagh i think he will die to. oh and oromis will also die and nasuda will be overthrown. and horst will find a safe place for carvahall and he will rule them!
I think that Katrina and Roran get married (obviously) and then after all is said and done they end up becoming the next Ruler's of Alagaesia. I can't remeber where but somewhere in one of the books someone says that dragon riders should not be kings because they live to long, and the second book says that most of the people of Palancar Valley are descended from an old king so they have the bloodline.
Ok ill make this shot!! I think that eithor Arya or Roran will get the new dragon egg! And the sword that Eragon gets will be the lost one that Brom lost during his training

I think that is onvious that Eragon`s father is not Morzan but Brom. Eragon is not bring him back from the deads that is realy stupid, I can´t imagen ow someone can think that. I also think that the first Eragon is the son of Eragon and Arya and he is steel in Spine, that is how he fell so secure in ther, and also Roran cold transportate all the village to Teirm.
you know the thing that is most likly to happin in the end of book three is that eragon proves his deathwatch proficy wrong, after all, orimis (or was it ara? I dont remember) told aregon about a guy who predicted that he would kill his son so he killied himself, proving our destinyies are not fixed. also, he predicted his own death earler in book two by murtog but was able to stay alive.
i don't think that Eragon will fall in love with Nasuada or however you spell it because Angela's predictment that he will love someone of noble birth and she wasn't born into royalty like Arya was because Nasuada wasn't born in the Varden she was born before Ajihad had come to the Vardens and became their leader
i think ther e are some good ideas on this sight and alot are just buggos, like eragon becoming king, eragon will never become king. if you can recal angelas furtune telling eragon is to leave alagaisie forever. i agree that the green dragon wont hatch though and that the final battle were galbatorix gets slain will be in elesmeira by the manowa tree. in the end i do think areia and eragon will be together (in love) i think the elves (AND posibly dwarves) will leave alAGEsia forever leaving roran to be the king. oramis might or might not die. he probably will and i dont think eragon will ever compleat his training.
The third dragon rider wwill definetly be a girl, but not Katrina and probably not Arya. The egg will be green. Eragon will unwillingly fall in love with this girl Oromis and Gladr will probably die and Eragon will get a new sword, a blue one from the one tree. Oh and Murtagh will be good in the end.
Nasuada has a noble birth because she is a dauhter of Islanzadif and ajihad, like Angela is the daughter of Brom and Islanzadif, so she can make spells because of brom. That is possible because the elves have donated on child to the vardens also the elves can make the persons change theirs bodys.
in my oppinion, eragon will ask again angela what she told to his mother[selena] and she would tell him sth that will help him find the vault of souls.Then he'll ask her tell him again his future as all her predictions became true.
I think that the next dragonrider can't be Nazuada or Vanir as the former hates magic and the latter doesn't like Eragon.Roran might be the last dragonrider, decause the eldest means the first son from two others.
Anoter crazy idea is that under the menoa tree is hidden the last survivor from the gray folk that will tell Eragon the secret of the unending power an the way to the kuthian rock.
I balieve that Oromis will die but before that he will tell Eragon his real name to open the voult of souls and find an unstoppable weapon[it is not important to be a material. it could be a spell or feeling sych as love].
Does any1 one know where Ajhzihad Comes from?
I think that Arya liked Faolin because Arya wouldn't talk to Eragon about him.
And... on pg.364 in Eldest... Arya said "Faolin created this espically for me one summer solstice, long ago." He made her a flower for her.
Then when Eragon is in Arya's room in Ellesmera he sees a picture if a male elf on her wall. I think that's Faolin. I think she is still in love with him even though he died. She just doesn't want to tell Eragon. :(
i think that roran wont be the next rider because he's not acturly related to eragon and so has'nt any riders blood in him. i also thimk that eragon will find two new weopons mabey a sword and magic scroll but definatly somthing to increase his magic because he got absolutly caned when he fought mughtarg.i also think that he will visit the valt of souls and get an army of sy dragons, elves,grey elves or maby the undead. who knows gut i definatly think an army will come from somewhere!!!!
in all of the coments i havent herd much at all about glader the dragon and since the new book is named after him he must have a significent partin the new book.
I think that galatorx has to die but eragon will die in the prosses, but arya will figure out she loves him and get the elves to conger a spell to bring him back to life and orimiss will continue to teach eragon magic.I also think that eragon will come back and remove elva's curse.
yeah who ever said arya can't be a rider because she had saphiras egg but it didn't hatch fo her was wrong. in the first book someone(i forgat who) said that the egg chooses the rider so saphira might not have shosen arya but the green dragon might. Also Nasuada falling in love with eragon!???? if you people forgotten the intent was clear that murtagh likes nasuada and nasuada likes murtagh. And nasuada becoming a dragon rider? no offense but thats kind of far-fetched. I totally agree that roran is going to be king. but not a rider. if he is a rider then he is not king. and arya falling in love with eragon is possible but them getting married and having children is not going to happen. i mean thats just way to happy for an ending. its too disney like. and brom being eragons father is not very reasonable. the eragon being 15 and brom being in carvahall for 15 years is because he wanted to protect eragon not because he is his father(just a thought). i think that eragon would be the son of brom and the weapon that is said to be under the big tree is really the root system that connects to the whole forest and when the time comes erogon and arya will fall in love after ayra hatches the egg that galbatorix now has locked up of and how they will get this egg is that when eragon and roran and go after rorans wife it will eventually lead to were the egg was held.
I think eragon eragon defeats the ra'zac orik becomes the next Dwarf king and eragon goes on a search to discover his real name therby giving himself more power. I also think that the Woman that Angela metions brom was in love with was Selena Eragons mother . Because brom mentions he knew her and she was a good person. I think in book 3 we will find out brom is eragons real father not Morzan. Because Blagden mentions something to eragon in book 2 a riddle he gives and part of it he says that father and son are both blind. As for eragon and Arya I think she loves him but she is suffering a loss. Faolin is mentioned a few times, He was one of the gaurds slain while transporting saphira and he created Arya's favourite flower in her palace in Illesmera. I think in book 3 we will find out about him
I think that eragon and Roran will rescue the green egg and it will choose Arya as the next rider. Later Eragon will complete his training and get a blue dragon sword. When arya's dragon is mature enough, Eragon will start teaching Arya. Later, a war comes and Roran and Eragon will find Katrina being held hostage. They will rescue her and Eragon will fight Murtagh again and somehow, even though Murtagh is bound by the Ancient language, he and his dragon turns good and helps Eragon fight Galbatorix. Together, they beat Galbatorix and the Varden wins the war. But since Shrukain is not Galbatorix's true rider he still lives and chooses Roran after The war. After, Arya and her dragon completes her training and Saphira and the other dragon mates so that Arya and Eragon (He already loves her) will fall in love. Then The new dragon and Saphira make an egg and it chooses Katrina. The dragon that Saphira made and Rorans new dragon, Shrukain will mate. But Katrina and Roran are already in love. Later, Arya teaches Katrina and Eragon teaches Roran. O yeah, also Eragon and Arya get married and have a baby and so does Roran and Katrina and they also have a baby or two.

I just remembered. CP totally copied the main idea from the story Jeremy Thatcher Dragon Hatcher. Jeremy hatched a Tiamat (the dragon) which Jeremy found in a book about history of dragons and he could speak to Tiamat in his mind and could sense how she was feeling. I am not dissing CP I am just saying he got alot of ideas from other fantasy stories, it's true. I hope he writes other books either than the inheritance trilogy because he is only in his 20s and is not a billionare yet like J.K. Rowlings. I am sure Brom is Eragon's father because Angela said he met a woman but wouldn't go on. It all fits one of the reasons she left was because she wanted to protect Broms's kid. Nasuada and Murtagh might fall in love if he is still alive it was obiovus he was into her. Arya might have liked Eragon but was still heart broken when one of her guards she was in love with died.

hey guys arya does not return eragons love because on pg. 432 Eldest eragon sees a picture of her dad and a guy he doesn't recognise. that was faolin.
and on pg. 364 of eldest arya says that faolin made the flower special for her.
and pg. 122 of Eragon she wont talk about faolin.

I think that the Menoa tree may be crucial in the final battle. Eragon has learned to draw energy from his surroundings and the Menoa tree is said to be connected to everything in du Weldenvarden. This may be the weapon Solembum mentioned, and if it isn't it would fit in with him finding a weapon there anyways.

I'm the person who said that Book Three comes out on August 20, I meant to say I'm not sure, not I'm sure. By the way not to hurt your feelings guy who said Thorn was female, that was the stupidist thing I ever heard. I quote from Murtaugh in Eldest, in the chapter Eldest.

See, "THE ONLY FEMALE DRAGON IN EXISTANCE." So Thorn cannot be female, because then Gablitrox would just force Shruiken and Thorn to mate. And he wouldn't care if Eragon and Saphira were captured or killed. Thorn is male and Gablitrox wanted Thorn and Saphira to mate. Also who would name a female dragon, Thorn. Any feedback would be great.

I think that eragon will confront galbatorix unable to defeat each other of being well matched through the training eragon has gone through. and his dragon give eragon and Saphira the spells and knowledge to match galbatorix powers fairly knowing now there time was short before they would face the void. the rescue of the egg will prevail but there is another spell to stop the egg from hatching until galbatorix releases it on realizing his fault and releases it to eragon. The king is struck down with the reality that he is who is holding back his reason for killing the riders to stop the anger among them. Galbatorix asks eragon to carry on his work to restore the riders to the land with the final egg. the king knows what he has to do and returns to his dragon companion, the dragon realizes what the king wants he and his black dragon then decide to end their lives. Eragon cousin roan will become the new rider and is then determined to rescue his love of his life. Eragon teaches him the way of the riders. They defeat the ra'zac with the help of orimis and his dragon in the effort it costs them their lives. The new enemy is Murtagh but he said in the anchaint language and swore under galbatorix but he could have been something elts as it is known for the elves to say one thing to mean something different. The end is where they return back to carvahall and start afresh there eragon is reunited with his mum and saphira and the unknown dragon rebuild the dragon population therefore eragon, saphira, roan and the new dragon live and rule the new era with great expectations.
Remember how Brom said those seven words in the Anciet Language, and he said to only use them in the greatest of need. Well with those words he could kill Galby with them. Like all his strength's gone and Murtaugh saves his life and he remembers those words in the anciet language and he utters them and Galby falls to the ground and is severly injured or is dying and Eragon stabs him in the heart.

I told my friend about the book, and he enjoed them. Then we started reading the 2nd book Eldest. And we finished the book. I also think that Roran will become a rider for the next egg. I say this because their is a family connection between all the rest of the riders like Murtagh. Since hge became a Rider i also think Roran will. And tha Eragon will get another sword from Under tha Monoa Tree. And that maybe they might convince Rhunon-elda to create a sword for Roran. But I also think that Christopher Paolini will make maybe a few more books. Like maybe 2 more books.

After Katrina's rescued and the Green Dragon egg is rescued and has hatched (and I think that the rider is going to be Arya) Arya, Eragon, and Orik are going to go back to Elessmera and Eragon is going to finish his training. Then Orimes and Glaedr are going to die, and then they will go back to the Varden and Eragon's going to fight Galby and Roram will become King.
I think Brom is Eragon's father, I'm not going to get into the facts because like half this blog is about people stating the facts abpout Brom being Eragon's dad, but I hope it's Morzan, I guess I just want it to be like Star Wars. Did anyone think that Eragon was mean to Murtaugh? I mean come on the guy just disobeayed his boss's orders might get in trouble. Hes forced to work for Gablitrox and he has to be Gablitrox's slave. And then when Murtaugh leaves, he just blabbs about evil Murtaugh is and how Roran's his brother more then Murtaugh. I mean come on! Talk about ungrateful! i think that morzan is Eragons father and brom is actually broms younger brother which is why they were so hard to seperate, and brom stayed in carvahall to watch over his brothers son. or it could be that Galbatorix is eragons father because if he was morzan then why would selena run away and hide from morzan and have the pregnancy in private, i mean think about it she already had murtagh with him so why not have eragon unless morzan would find out that it wasn't really his baby (if they can somehow find that out), and plus if she was trying to get away then why would she go back to morzan unless she still loved him
oh and for the little girl (the one that eragon screwed up) he told her how he could change the spell back so maybe the oath that galbatorix had put on murtagh can also be undone.

i think that arya will become the rider of the green egg i doubt any one will die but it would be a good twist i think the vault os souls being openened will on ly reveal the green egg and get rid of galbatorix and murtags strengh and i haven't a clue about the ship oh yea and i think arya will fall in love with eragon because of there dragons falling in love and i rekon brom is eragons dad

i think the girl that eragon blessed or whatever is going to be the rider, as a way to lessen the toll her curse takes out on her. plus the fact that she has rider like mark on her forhead in the shape of a star. then you add the fact thats she already has powerful magic abilities then you make her a rider that aught to lvl the playing field a bit when the final battle comes. i also think that the rider sword smith will make eragon suit of armor since she swore off making swords, and i think eragon will get broms sword or oromis's sword.
i dont understand all this talk of morzans bloodline. of all the human riders in the past never does it say that it has to be someone of a blood line. plus it just seems unlikly that theyll choose another human to be a rider. i mean most of the riders in the past were elves so it stands to reason that the new rider for the sake of diversity will more than likely not be human. i would like to see the new rider b a dwarf though. On the topic of all this everyone being related and stuff whos to say that maybe galbatorix didnt have a kid that eragon is going to hook up with so galbatorix can have controll over eragon and his dragon. not that i think it will happen. and nasuada isnt really royalty the varden are not a kingdom they are a society of people that act like a monarchy. who knows maybe eragon will hook up with a dwarf chick. once agin i dont think it will happen just trying to show how some of these predictions just dont seem likely if you look at the facts. also i think eragon is going to get sweet blue armor since the sword smith said no more swords. plus if you remember she was making armor at one point in the book. plus think about it the swords are unbreakable if armor was made of the same stuff it would come in handy for the battle to come. hell need all the protection he can get

I also think this because of Angela's prediction that Eragon will have a long life and that he will sail from algasia and never return. That is what i think will a happen in book three which has been thought to be called Empire.

I was just reading over everyones predictions and i have to say I'm really excited to see who was right and who was wrong. I however believe that Brom is eragon's father. I also read some say that Rohan and Eragon do not share the same blood and i wanted to say just because they are cousin doesnt mean they don't share blood.I like the idea of Rohan becoming king and can see that.
I know Book 2 is rumored to be titled Empire. Well it may not. Each book starts with an E and has six letters right? Well, each book title also says the name of the next Rider. For example, Eragon and his Eldest brother. So if Arya is the next rider, then the book could be called Elvish.

I am completley bored. I've memorized the ENTIRE Ancient Language and have read the books 2 many x to count and visited ALL the fan sites. Truthfully, I didn't really like the movie. In the book i think that Arya will be the next Dragon Rider, Roran will become king, Eragon will move away from Alagaesia with Arya forever, and Orik will become Dwarf King.

They're will be a great battle at Urau-Baen, first during the battle Nasuada gets kidnapped by Murtaugh. Then there's a couple of chapters from Nasuada perspective, when Murtaugh admits that he's fallen in love with her and he wants her to be his wife. But Nasuada wi;ll say something like this.
" Murtaugh, when i first saw you I was impressed by your words and determination. Perhaps I would love you, but I can't love a man who serves evil."
Then he'll leave Nasuada chained up in the king's throne room and fight with Gablitrox, Thorn and Shruiken against Ayra, her dragon, and Eragon and Saphira in an aerial battle, then Galby and Murtaugh and their dragons will retreat to the throne room. While the green dragon and Saphira fight Thorn and Shruiken. While the good riders fight the bad riders. Nasuada watchs on hand cuffed in chains, with magic, so Eragon or Ayra cannot free her with magic. Somehow Ayra will get woudned and be unable to fight in the middle of the battle. Then Galblitrox will watch as Eragon and Murtaugh face off against each other. Eragon will beat Murtaugh (wounds him), but remebering Murtaugh's mercy to him will not kill him. Then he'll face Galby, and G will beat him, then Eragon will somehow free Murtaugh and Thorn from their oaths, maybe with the seven words that Brom gave him. Then when G's Just about to kill him Murtaugh will fight him and save Eragon. Nasuada will then stab (don't ask me how) G in the arm and then G will kill hin in a rage Murtaugh will wound Gablitrox but then get killed by G. Then in a rage Eragon will kill G with Zar'roc. Then they'll be that brother to brother thing, and then Murtaugh will die.
this is not really a prediction but...... I found out a conection with Faolin and Arya. I belive they like each other. Why else did Faolin give Arya a flower and it was her favorite. and why else did Arya not say anything about Faolin! that's why i think Arya likes likes Faolin.
Ok so i havent really read all the other posts there was just to many, but i dont think anyone has said this... people have touched on the subject of Eragon bringing someone back from the dead right.. well i think that he might bring Brom back... cuz remember how Saphira like iceified Brom's body so that "time would not ravage him". I've read all this blog and only one person has mentioned the dwarves in Tarnag (I think) who sharted the blood feud with Eragojn. Something will probably happen between them, but I have no idea what, maybe they'll betray Eragon to Galblitorix or try to murder Eragon.
I have a few comments..
1.Eragon was already betrayed by someone in his family = Murtagh, his brother.
2.Roran does NOT have the same blood as Eragon and Murtagh, roran's father was Eragon and Murtagh's mother brother. Roran's father isn't related to morzan in any way.
3. I think the rider will be Arya, or uhh, (Forget her name) the daughter who's leading the varden now.
4.Once again, brom is not eragon's father..
OKie this is a long shot but, how about if the varden are on the brink of collapse in the desparation brings back the one person who could stop Gallbtorix the last dragon rider (not brom but varel)...and they team up to take out Galbrotix n Murghtah..ohh ohh and Roran establish a new kingdom like Sudra and the elves return to thier citys as doo all others :D

Let me make a few things clear to those who haven't figured these out already.
1) The 7 words Brom gave to Eragon were "I am a rider and a friend"
2) Eragon has already gotten the weapon under the tree- It was being healed from his sickness, and gaining the strength and sight and etc. of the elves.
I think that Murtagh will survive the next book, but someone will die. I think that Orimis will die, but I think that he will die because it is his time not by saving Eragon. I think that there will be a new character that will be the next dragon rider. I think that Roran and Eragon will save Katrina. I also think that they will stay with Eragon and help defeat Galbatorix. Another thought that I had was that Murtagh will turn on Galbatorix because Eragon will find a way to free him from the bond he made in the ancient language.
Why does everyone think that Brom is Eragons Father? I think that he has the same Father as Murtagh. I think this because in Eldest he was concerned that he would belike his father. Also it said that the only time she left Morzan was to go give birth to Eragon then she left right after she named him. Finally I don't think that Brom is Eragons father

I think that the thrid egg has already hatched. I think this because in Eldest Mutagh told Eragon that the last dragon was male.(pg.649) So it is a possibility that the last egg hatched for someone and was still too young to fight in the battle against the Varden.
It does say in Eldest on page 652 that Eragon and Murtagh do share the same father. So Brom could not be Eragons father.

I know that Murtagh is DEFINITLY going to turn good. You can just tell because he is a great character and also because he had the chance once to kill Eragon but didn't. Also, remeber that he is forced to be evil because he is under Galaboratrix's dark magic, but if Eragon or someone else can somehow break the enchantment he will definitly become good again. I bet that he will try to fight the magic anyways. I really likes the guy who playes him in the movie, and he was just too nice in the movie for him to stay evil.

I personally think Elva will be the next Rider, she has an "important role to play", and even though I hope that Eragon and Arya get together I doubt it, I think Arya will become Queen after her mother dies in the last battle. I don't thik Morzan will turn good exactly, but will die protecting Eragon. Morzan probably isn't Eragons father, I hope it is Brom, but it could be someone else. Ayra will get the green dragon egg. That will enhance Ayra's feelings for Eragon. Brom is Eragon's father so that only makes Eragon and Murtagh half brothers. Remember those rider swords that were recovered from the fall. One is Brom's and one belongs to another fallen rider. Eragon will take Broms because Brom's was blue. Ayra will take the other because it is green.
As for the valut of souls I think it has to do with the cathedral in Dras-Leona. I remember it being described as "Bare walls extended to a vaulted ceiling that was so tall Eragon felt no taller than an ant."pg. 257. Remember the sacrafices that was a part of worshiping Helgrind. I think Galbatotix is somehow useing them to suply energy to him and Murtagh. It makes sense that he would draw energy from the vault.
I think that The Green Dragon Egg will hatch for Arya and they will get married and have lots of kids.After that Saphira and The Green Dragon will mate and Eragon and Arya's kids will be the next generation of dragon riders.Then Arya and Eragon will get too Powerful for Algaesia and move to the Elf Homeland and Live Happily ever after.

Here are my predictions
1. Eragon and Roran rescue Katrian
2. Rescue the green dragon egg
3. Egg hatches for Ayra
4. Eragon and Ayra and their respective dragons complete their training with Oromis.
5. Oromis and Galender die but tell Eragon that Brom was his actual Father.
6. Green Dragon and Saphira mate
7. Eragon and Ayra get their rider swords
8. Eragon speaks his true name and opeans the valt of souls which is in the cathedral of Dras-Leona. He then destroys it. Thus weakening G and M. The rock of Kuthain will have something to do with.
9. Eragon and Ayra and their dragons return to the Varden.
10 Nasuada gets kidnapped by Murtaugh who has fallen in love with her.
11. The elves, dwarves and Varden fight Gablitrox at the battle of Urau-Baen. G and M and their dragons fight E and A and their dragons in an aerial battle.
12. Then the good dragons fight the bad draogns and the good riders fight the bad riders in the throne room. Which Nasuada is chaiend up by magic at. Ayra gets wounded and can't fight.
13. Murtaugh saves Eragon's life from G, Eragon somehow frees him fro mhis spell maybe with the seven words that Brom whisped to him. G kills Nasuada. And Murtaugh in a rage wouds G. Then in a rage Eragon kills G.
14. I forgot to mention this Izlandi is Angela, Vanir, and Nasuada's mother.
15. Vanir becomes king of elves, Roran and Katrina of humans, Orik of dwarves. And Saphira heals the Star Sahpire.
16. Eragon and Ayra, and their dragons leave Algeasia to go to the elves homeland.

Murtagh obviously didn't wan't to kill Eragon in the second book while they were battling- and he let Eragon escape without capturing him. It's possible that when Eragon finally faces Galbatorix, Murtagh will overcome the loyalty he sweared to Galbatorix and help defeat him.

Brom is Eragon's father.
1. Saphira is withholding more of Broms secrets from Eragon.
2. Eragon's mother-Selena- left for "many months" this is very vague and could have been almost a year, given enough time to have a baby.
3. "The old man always seemed to have time for Eragon." Nuff said.
I didn't read every comment, so someone might have already said this but, I think Elva might be the third rider. Yes, it is unlikely but she was "blessed" by a rider and almost everybody is sure she is going to be important in the third book.

I also believe that Brom is Eragon's father. There are too many clues to suggest otherwise. First, Brom said he knew Eragon's mother, and missed her when she was away. Second, Eragon's dragon is blue, as was Brom's. And Morzan's dragon was red, and so is Murtaugh's. Third, Eragon said that Brom was more of a father to him than Morzan was (after he found out about Murtaugh being his brother). Fourth, If Morzan got Selena pregnant with Eragon, and she didn't tell him, couldn't he break into her mind and find out himself before she left? Just some thoughts.
I think that the Rock of Kuthian is a rock at which Eragon must meditate and learn his true name and he speaks it to gain a more powerful hold on magic, an insight that gives him a look into the spiritual world where he communicates with Brom, his mother, the first Eragon, and/or his father (I am unsure whether or not Brom or Morzan is his real father, but I strongly think it is Brom). It also seems likely that the "roots" of the Menoa Tree means the history and that the two/one ancient familie(s) tied to the Menoa Tree are/is the one(s) that carries the sword(s) that Eragon needs. The seven words that Brom told Eragon that are still unknown must be a spell that severely weakens Gallbatorix. I also think that Murtagh will be the one who kills Gallbatorix. Of course Roran becomes King of Alagaesia with Katrina by his side.
Those are the theories I am certain on and I am unwilling to put in writing my more... out-of-the-way theories. I will most likely elaborate later when I have more facts.
i haven't read everything here so i don't know wuts all been mentioned. what i think will happen is that galbatorix will die in the end. i don't think shruikan will because once galby is killed he will be free of his enchantments. eragon will kill him of course. i also think that when he opens the vault of souls, he'll find brom's soul and they will talk to each other somehow and brom will finally reveal that he is his father. on the part of eragons sword. when solembum tells him"When the time comes and you need a weapon, look under the roots of the Menoa tree", if you look up roots in the dictionary. it also means origin. and the menoa tree is a female elf that sang herself into the tree. so i think that he will go the origin of the elf, her old home, and he will repeat the seven words brom told him when he died and they will give him the sword. roran will be the king along with nasuada, katrina doesn't seem like a good queen. thorn will die but murtagh will survive. and in eragons premonition in the first book, he see's a male and female along with some shorter people leaving on a ship and someone screaming on the beach. i believe that eragon along with arya, saphire, arya's dragon, orik, and his soon to be wife, are on the ship going to Alalea, the old home of the elves. and to quickly finish, on the part about eragon bringing someone back from the dead. brom speficially told him never to do it and so he won't. he'll want to when he meets brom after he opens the vault, but brom won't let him. to comment on some of these posts, galby is NOT eragons dad. someone said in here than he had an affair with selena not knowing she was with morzan. IMPOSSIBLE. eragon is specifically told about how galby liked to know everything that was going on around him and that he knew about morzan and selena, and he even helped them. eragon will NOT die, he had a premonition in the first book and i explained it above. morzan is NOT eragons father either. even though murtagh said it in the ancient language, doesn't mean its true. remember what oromis said, u can tell untruths in the AL, as long as you believe them to be true. murtagh believed it was true but its not. for example:

"Son and Father alike, both blind as bats".
its speaking about betrayal. brom was betrayed by morzan and eragon was now betrayed by murtagh. and then:
p. 546
"While two may share two,
And one of two is certainly one,
One might be two."
put it this way: "While two (sons, eragon and murtagh) "may" share the same two parents(morzan and selena), And one parent of two parents, the Mother-Selena, is certainly the same one parent of both sons, One parent, the Father, might be two Fathers (Brom and Morzan) each having one of the sons.
and also to support that brom is eragons father is on page 281-282 in eldest. saphira admits to eragon that brom told her many things, some things she will not speak of unless necessary. its too long to write in here but read them yourself. and then on page 656 in eldest:
Saphira ruffled his hair with a gust of hot breath. "Just remember, whatever Brom's reasons, he always tried to protect us from danger. He died saving you from the Ra'zac."
"I know.... Do you think he didn't tell me about this because he was afraid I might emulate Morzan, like Murtagh has?"

He looked at her, curious. "How can you be so certain?" She lifted her head high above him and refused to meet his eyes or to answer. "Have it your way, then."
ive read eldest now 11 times and eragon 8 times and ive been through every forum i can find, and so far this is what most of us have put together. i hope you like it.

first of all. those were NOT the seven words that he was told. that we can be sure of. second. eragon has not received his weapon yet because it does not match up with solembum's words. first of all, he had to be looking for the weapon, which he clearly wasn't. he was just watching the celebration. and it wasn't UNDER the ROOTS of the menoa tree like solembum specified. and someone had also mentioned that the sword for the new dragon rider will be made from a piece of isidar mithrim. this won't happen either because, well, it just won't happen. eragon was told that there were two elven families in posession of old riders swords that died in the final battle. well brom lost his at that time, and the other sword will be a green one. i hope you enjoy

Roran will definitely become king and I think Katrina will be saved and become queen because Nasuda dies attempting to kill Galbatorix. Brom has to be Eragon's father. i think arya will be the next rider. but she and eragon can never be together because of their duties. angela told eragon that he would have a romance with a woman of noble birth though, so im thinking.. nasuada??
she seems to be quite friendly with him towards the end of eldest.
I dont think that Roran or Katrina are going to get the egg because they dont have some sort of connection between it, not bloodwise like Roran, but love wise because Roran's main goal is to get Katrina back and thats all
