Eragon Book Three Predictions (Book 4 Predictions coming soon!)The book will be coming out September 23, 2008!
Today I thought that I would occasionally do book predictions, not only report on books. One of my favorite series is Eragon. The third book should be coming out in maybe a year. Here are some things I think will happen.
Since I now have over 1000 posts and read both books again, I have new ideas. My old list is below.
1. The Green Dragon Rider is Arya because in Deathwatch in Eragon, he sees a male and female boarding a ship with dragons in the sky.It also would make sense because there hasn't been a female rider mentioned, and there hasn't been a new elf rider for a while. A reason that many people say is that Arya also has green magic, and magic color is the same as dragon color. The color of magic means nothing until you have bonded with the dragon.
2.Oromis and Glaeder will die. They are old and Oromis said that he was lucky to live to train Eragon. They are both crippled as well.
3. Roran. He will save Katrina and get married. He will become ruler of Alagaesia because he has blood of the first human king. He is also a natural leader.
4.Eragon will probably bring someone back from the dead through the vault of souls. The other prediction of Solembum's may have already passed. Eragon got his elf-like strength from under the tree. Some of you may say "It was not totaly beneath the tree," but it doesn't have to be under the roots. It neither says that the weapon is a physical weapon.
5.Murtagh somehow turns good and marries Nasuada. They both like each other.
6. Elva has an important role.
7. Saphira and the green dragon mate.
Just To Clear Some Things Up.
1.The next Dragon is Green because CP said so already.
2.The new book does have Glaeder on the cover.
3. CP did not copy Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, many books/movies have similar plots.
4.The title is Brisingr.
5.This is NOT the last book.
Old Predictions
1. Eragon and Roran get Katrina and defeat the Ra 'zak.
2. The Varden get the green egg.
3. Roran hatches the green egg.
4. Eragon completes his training with Oromis.
5. Eragon and Roran get Rider Swords.
6. The two things Solumbum tells Eragon come true.
7. Murtagh MIGHT turn good.
8. Galbatorix is defeated.

every one keeps saying Brom can't be Eragons father Morzan is. that is a lie. Murtagh said Morzan was and said it in the ancient language because that is what he was told. he only thinks that Morzan is so that is what he said to eragon. but Brom is more likely to be eragons father because of the line Father like son both blind as bats because brom didnt see morzans betrayal and eragon didnt see murtaghs betrayal.
ok, i thought the third book was coming out this summer, but then i heard it wasn't, so will someone help me out of this confused state that I am currently in and TELL ME WHEN IT IS GONNA COME OUT!!! also, i think that thorn will die, so murtagh will somehow get out of his little dealy thing with galbatorix, and will save the day. YIPPE FOR MURTAGH! oh yeah, and if you want to read a good series after the inheritence trilogy is over, read Maximum ride. It is so totally awesome, slmost as awesome as ERAGON!!!
I think that arya will be the last rider for reasons already stated.... color of magic, bond between eragon and arya etc. I also think that the name of the ancient language will be discovered by eragon and that may be what helps defeat galbatorix. I dont think that eragon will have to go on a big quest to find out the name of the language it is proably something simple that no one ever tried. Perhaps the sound that the white raven made.. Wierda
i don't think arya and eragon will end p together. She's CLEARLY stated that she doesn't think of him in that way. i don't think she would suddenly change her mind for no reason. Plus, there's the huge age difference. Nasuada is a possiblity, but eragon will outlive her by a whole lot, unless she becomes the next dragon rider. but if she doesn't, eragon will have a pretty messed up love life and should just stay single.
what if the green dragon dies and saphira has to mate with thorn?
i think that the weapon eragon gets will be the soard of the first eragon so it will have a bunch of powor stored in it and he will use that powor to kill gal
There is a possibility that no one has thought of:
Nasuada touches the Green egg and it turns out that everone was wrong. The egg turns out to be female. Everyone gets upset because Saphira now has no mate. Eragon kills himself using the true name of the Ancient Language(given to him by Brom)which in turn kills Galbatorix and his dragon. This releases Murtagh from his oath. He and Nasuada fall in love, as do their dragons. They are the pair of dragon riders that Eragon saw in his vision. They sail away from the destroyed Alagashia and take all the people to a new land where they rebuild the Dragon Riders with Roran as King.
This is unlikely but it is still good in my opinion.
i just wrote this same message but i dont think that it has came up so ill write it again. i think that eragon will learn how to bring someone back from the dead and will choose to bring Brom back as he finds out that it is his father and he saved eragons life. when brom returns he will go with eragon and arya to get katrina and the green dragon and the egg will hatch to Bom making him a second rider just like galbatorix did as shruikan is his second dragon. as brom is already familiar with the ancient language and magic he will learn more from oromis and will be stronger that galbatorix so him and eragon will lead the varden and all the elves to a battle and Brom will kill Murtagh as eragon will kill Galby
In the second book, in the last battle scene, i you rember, Eragon goes into the mind of one of the enemy soilders that was working the catapult and he makes the man
destroy the catapult. Well i think thats whats going on with Murtagh. i think that Galbatorix is going into Murtaghs mind and forcing him to do what he wants. Because he knows that if he has another dragon rider on his side then it will be easier for him to win the war.
i think Murphag will turn good, and with Eragon he will defeat Galbatorix...
I would be happy if Arya was the next rider (somehow Eragon caused it) and that she we (somehow) fall in love with Eragon .
4 sure they wont have kids and i think that they shouldn't have any, but they will be 2gether 4ether...
Murphag will marry Nasuada they will be king and quenn.. Orik will be the dwarf king and Roran will be the king of Alagesa .
Oromis, glaedr and the Elf quenn will die and then Arya we will rule (with Eragon or alone) the Elf nation....
I hope that all kind of creatures will be and live in peace..
But the truth is that i wouldn't want Galbatorix to die because then i could be sure that there will be the 4 part :)
correct me if I'm wrong, but someone said that murtagh would almost kill Eragon and at the last minute turn around and kill galbatorix and die because he broke his promise in the ancient language. now this is far fetched, but, what promise? we have no evidence that Galbatorix told Murtagh not to kill him. I know you are all saying "what is this guy thinking" but it is possible that galbatorix overlooked that and so did Murtagh. humans aren't perfect and Galbatorix and Murtagh are human.
Murtagh will have to die. I love him as a character, but he will have to die. Galbatorix made him promise to kill Eragon in the ancient language and that doesn't change whether Galbatorix dies or not. Murtagh will still have promised to kill Eragon. the only way that Murtagh could be a good character is if Eragon and Galbatorix both die, and I doubt that Eragon will die. but still. Christopher Paolini turned half of the story into Rorans point of view. so Eragon COULD die, and we would just read the last chapter or so from Roran's point of view.

i think that oromis will dieand in his last words tells eragon to go to vroengard where the riders lived and thats where eragon will probobly bring someone back.i think he will bring back brom,vrail or the original eragon.
VERY IMPORTANT:ON PAGE 650 ON THE SECOND LINE MURTAGH TELLS ERAGON THAT GALBATORIX KNOWS HIS AND MURTAGH'S TRUE NAMES.read it if u dont belive me and also i think that roran will be the new king arya will be Queen of the elves and orik will be king of the dwarfes with eragon leader of the riders
i reckon that in the vault of souls everyones true name will be used and eragon can use it to find out glabatorixs true name.
I believe that Brom is Eragon's father. If so, then how was it Selena's undoing that she got to leave Eragon in the same town as his father and then get away with the Empire (Galbatorix) not knowing about it?
I also don't believe that there will be an Eldest movie because the last one was so bad.....
some one once said that if the dragons mated the riders would love each other it dosent have to be sexual it could be brotherly love such as between eragon and roran or possibly Murtagh or any such thing friednpossobly or how dare i say this blasphemous thing what if orik becomes the next rider the varden get the egg and as king he touches the stone the first dwarf rider in history quite a twist in my opinion

well first one comment said eldest is of three or more obiously mourtagh is eldest. what if chris P reveals one of the charicters in question to get the egg to be eragons and murtaghs younger brother. his parents being brom and selena. brom could have returned from stealing saphiras egg and encountered selena. remember selena had her fortunne told what if her fortune told her that if she and brom didnt have a kid then dragon riders would end
and what of the mark on elvas forhead?? i think it will stop eragon from removing his curse
elva could also become the next dragon rider she is a big part of the books and is also already a part of dragon magic(the mark on her forhead)in the fisrt book it was said that children walk in front of the eggs so why an adult? she already learns faster then anyone because of saphira

I think when Eragon and Roran do finally find Katrina she will be pregnat after the night her and roran spent together. And Roran will go on to be king and not a rider, because hrothgar says in the first book he did not think a king should not die normally like their people. And i also think brom is eragons father and the he is part elf, why else wold he be so excepted among their race when they seculded themselves from everyone else?
I believe that, yes, Eragon and Saphira will bond with the green dragon. Angela had predicted that Eragon would fall for someone of royal blood, but is it really Arya? What if the next rider is a female who was decended from an old ruler? This could be a new character, or Arya.
Here's a thought, CP once said that a rider's magic turns to the color of their dragon's scales ONCE BONDED. We can't just asume that since Arya's magic is green that she is the next rider. (though it is very possible)
as to orik being a rider, i disagree that he will be however it is possible though he wasnt part of the pact between the drangons, elves, n humans it said that humans were added to the pact later so they could still include dwarves
I think that arya will be the next rider because her magic is green and that the last egg is green.orimos and gleedr wil smomehow die and murtagh and galbatorix will invade esmella where eragon will convince murtagh to be good. eragon will find broms sord under the meona tree and will kill galbatorix.but somewhere in there eragon will go to the valut of souls and get someone aglsea will be fully destroyed and eragon, arya and roran will go to the home of the dragons or elvs
Hey i think that dream that eragon had in the first book will come true...who would be the man screaming on the shore? eragon? a friend of his? will this new green dragon mate w/ saphira? probably... it would make sense that arya is a rider-kinda like with anne macaffery they will fall in love wher their dragons mate. but in the end will eragon sail to some sort on grey havens w/ the elves like in lotr??

I think that saphira might die, but eragon will bring him back somehow. and finally, the completely dumb and impossible idea: brom comes back from the dead because of something that oromis did, kills murtagh, galbatorix kills him, and then angela kills galbatorix, all while eragon is lying there mortally wounded. Hey, it might happen.
I think that Eragon will go to the death Isle and bring brom back and that Roran will marry Katrina and that Murtagh will turn good somehow, and I think that Nasuada or Roran will become the next leaders of Alagaesia I think that Eragon might leave Alagaesia and go to another country

i agree wif alot o ur theorees and i hav no idea who the nezt rider will b but i think it will be a new person. and im stinkin mad cos evrybody is sayin there is 2 dragon eggs not 1
in the second book eragon tells saphira that there are probly dragons in other parots o the world just like humans
i think they will go lookin for other dragons cross the sea and they find them and bring back a whole bunch of dragon eggs for riders. then i think there will b a battle and the good side is losin and then the dragons from over the sea come and help win the battle

i am tired of saying this but in the books u dont have a color of magic. the only exeption is when they use brisingr. and i just finished both books for the 21st time(seriously)and it never remember it mentioning arya haveing green fire, i think people got it from the movie
sorry if this was said already, but according to my recollection, the twins figured out selena was the mother of both, and they "put it together" that morzan was the father, which is further evidence for the thought that Brom is the father, and it is possibly why Murtagh could say Morzan was the father, cuz thats what the twins told him.
I think that in the end Galbatorix will die and that he will kill Murtagh since Murtagh turns good, And since Eragon is bring someone important back from the dead I think it will be Murtagh because he makes a pact with Galbatorix to be on his side, but then Murtagh becomes good. I think that Roran will be come the next king because of his bloodline, as well. And I also think that Arya will become the next dragon rider and that she and Eragon do eventually fall in love. Even though that in the beginning she did not like Eragon that much I think that Since Saphira and the green dragon mate that makes Eragon and Arya become closer to the point were they do fall in love. Roran cannot be the next dragon rider not by the fact that he's not related to Eragon's and Murtagh's father but because he might not have the stength and the ability to become a dragon rider. Remeber that not all the dragon riders were related to Morzan in the beginning of book one and that the dragon chooses the rider. Orik may become the next dawrf king because he was the adopted son and heir of Hrothgar. I do not believe that Brom was Eragon's father because Selena left Murtagh and Morzan while she was pregnent with Eragon and gave Eragon to be raised with his cousin Roran. I do believe that there are more dragons out in the spine hidding from everyone and thats why Eragon liked the spine, because he felt safe, and why everyone else feared the spine, not only because they did not feel safe but that they had heard roomers about it and nobody ever survived going into the deep spine.

i just had a crazy idea,
it said Arya was like over 100. so she would have been alive when the riders were around.
Maybe she had a green dragon and the dragon was killed.
That would explain the green magic.

first of all, i just want to say that murtagh is my favorite characture even though he has turned evil.he has been my "friend" since pg. 267 an i will not abondon him though he seems to have abandoned me. i always thought that murtagh was good from the start;i never doubted it; and recieved a terrible blow when i read that he had "died". the sadness that i felt at his "death" was nothing to the sadness that i felt when i read the last scentence on pg.645. i confess that i cryed after reading what murtagh had done.
i am no hoping agianst hope that he will turn good agian.i however dissagree with the theorys that when murtagh turns good (hopefully) that he will fall in love with nassuada(this may have somehing to do with the fact that i never liked nassuada). i don't see how saphira could mate with a dragon like that, but with the whole dragon race depending on it...hmm? i dont know. i do think that arya is the third dragon ride in eragons vision, though. orimis is likly to die along with glaedr and eragon and roran will save katrina, that i am certin of.
for now all we can do is wait and ponder theese unanswered questions.

i completely disagree because the names of the books start with "e" and the names always have six letters so i think it will be empire
but i do agree with your idea of the name being related to something in the book so i think empire will mean the fall of the empire when galbutorix dies and the rebirth of it when (i think and would like) roran becomes king

To answer your question Anonymous, nobody really knows the name of the next book. The author (can't spell his name) has not even come up with the name yet. But you do make a good point, every book has added a new character. Although Heir is spelled with an H so there could be another word for Heir and Inheritance combined to make it and E for the third book. Both books have started with E, Eragon and Eldest. I have actually heard that the third book might be called Empire. But thats just a rumor, because agian the author does not know what the name of the next book yet is.
Yeah, Arabella! My friends have been circulating about Empire being the book's name. I know for certain Eragon won't die, because Angela said that Eragon would have a long life back in the first book. He's only 16, for crying out loud!
i belivee that arya gets a dragon and that roran and araya become dragon riders beacause araya is an elf and there needs to be an elf rider and i do belileav that that they get married and as for roran blood is strong in dragon riders I do belive that all the dragon riders get there trew dragon rider swords and that galbatrox is detroyed and brom defenetly comes back from one of solenboms furtune tellings. i do belive thow that roran actully becoms good by swarring allligense to aregon to wich in the angent tongs eould mean sece he swore it to gelbetrox means he cant break it so he would have to sit it out and with him dead would mean he would be free.
roran can't be the next rider. it is true that murtagh,roran, and eragon share blood from eragon and murtagh's mother but roran doesn't have morzan's blood so he can't be a rider.

I think that would be so cool.
And it would kind of make sense.
If anyone's noticed elves seem to have the same gender dragon while humans seem to have the opposite.
So that rules out Arya and leaves room for a new character.

even though you may have a point Anonymos, it could also be any human female for the next dragon. Not all the orginal rides had Morzan's blood plus the dragon chooses the rider so the dragon could choose Arya or it could choose somebosy else.
I'm betting that Brom will actually turn out to be Eragon's father. The lover that Angela mentions will be Selena. At least, I hope that's what happens because I hate that Eragon is Morzan's son.
Katrina is going to be the next rider. It makes sense if you think about Eragon's dream from the first book. In his dream he sees too people sailing away on a boat and a man on shore yelling as it leaves shore. The man would be Roran, upset that he took Katrina from him. And then two people on the boat would be Eragon and Katrina. If Katrina took the egg while she was imprisoned, then Saphira might fall in love with the new dragon which would force Eragon to steal Katrina away from Roran for himself.
arya is only like 50 or something not a hundred and the dragon riders were like 200 years before the book takes place
I'm thinking that Roran will be the next Rider. I also have an odd hunch that Nasuada will die and Eragon will become ruler of the Varden. They're weird thoughts, but it's all I have now.
Technically, Roran and Eragon do share blood because Garrow was Eragon's uncle. That means that Morzan had a brother.Garrow (yes, I know he's dead) might have some small part in the third book.
Roran will probably rescue Katrina and marry her. I also think Sloan will finally give in.
I think that Roran will become King and that instead of Arya becoming a rider it will be Nasuada, because Arya already has the power of an elf and how Nasuada when the Varden was at war would always manipulate the enemy.
Great ideas from everyone although Arya could NOT be the next rider 'cause she has been carrying the egg for around 70 years. If Safira did'nt think she was THE rider, why would the lastdragon egg hatch for her?
Good predicaments!! I believe that Orik will become king, because he's Hrothgars heir. I also believe that Murtagh will some how become good, and help defeat Galbatorix, and like, marry Nausuada. But I really doubt Eragon will marry Arya. She's already rejected him like 8,000 times! Thank you! Se onr sverdar sitja havass!
i know the last egg is a male cuz murtagh said that in book 2 right to eragons face.galbatrix will die but a wicked way.
Maybe kuasta is the last dwelling of the dragons.Because in eldest it mentions brom bieng from kuasta.

kay. let's see. well, in the end of the battle at farthen dur, the king of the varden died. at the end of the other battle, hrothgar died, so i think queen izlanzadi is gonna die at the end of this book. the title of the book will be empire. orik will take over the throne of hrothgar. brom is eragon's dad. oh, and, someone said that they think angela is eragon's mom, and to prove them wrong if it is impossible. well, you forgot that selena came into carvhall and gave birth to him there!
When Solembum said look under the roots of the menoa tree i dont think its literally the roots. if you look up root in the dictionary one of the definitions is source,origin,ancestry. so i think it will be the ancestors of the elven race. one will have broms blue sword and one will have a green sword
just a thought but what if the wepon under the menora tree is a store of endless energy that eragon can use to do spells no one can normally?Then he could use the energy to bring people back to life.the next rider has to be skilled in magic because there is no time for the traing needed otherwise.what might happen is that eragon saves the elf queen and arya then izaladni [the elf queen]and then arya falla for him. then with the energy store eragon makes arya yonger?
i think that roran is the next rider eldest think eldest means the eldest of more than one mabey roran is eargons brother it even said in "eldest" that roran looks like eargon

You do know that looks have nothing to do with relatives... and there obviously has to be some twist in the plot like the rider being neutral???
OK heres my idea. CP said that something about the spirits shades use will come into play in the third book. So, I think someone will die, and by accident durza will be resserected by eragon when he tries to save someone else. Now, Arya will probably be the next rider, and im also thinking roran saves katrina, then roran dies and eragon saves roran. I think murtagh has something to do with galbatorixs death, and i also think the ra'zaac will have something to do with it. I think there will be a big battle between the elves and the empire, and elva will kill the ra'zaac, but before the ra'zaac die they will do something on accident to galbatorix, or hurt murtagh/eragon/roran/arya. Another weird prodiction i have, is that orormis and gladear die, and eragon brings them back, and they have something to do with galbatorixs death. I think gladear will kill shruikan, and galby will get mad and kill oromis and gladaer again.Where eragon or murtagh or possibly roran comes in and kills galby with the true name. Another prediction is that with durzas spirit, eragon finds a way to control it, and helps durza but makes the spirit brom, so brom uses the ancient word to kill galby. The name of the book will probably be empire, Nasuada will probably stay ruler of the varden, Roran will become king of alagaseia, and roran will be the one waving at eragon and arya on the boat while saphira and the green dragon mate and they go off to a distant land. also the deep spine could be a portal to where the dragons live and that is why the troops died because there is no way back.
Maybe the finale battle will go out of alagaesia and Eragon kills Galbatorix.And saphhira is left behind.Then Roran and the green dragon rider set out to find Eragon.
How will Eragon bring people back from the dead? Brom said that it could drain all your strength and kill you! Unless Eragon got really magic-resistant. I don't think Arya will be the next Rider because she knows too much about the ancient language and stuff like that. I think the next Rider will start from scratch like Eragon, someone like RORAN, whom I suspected from the start!
Good suggestion about Katrina, though. Hold on-where is the prison that Eragon saw her in at the end of Eldest? If it was in Uru`baen, then it is possible that she'll have something to do with the egg. She does seem like a good choice for being a Rider.
Was Murtagh's dragon a female? If not, then that throws away the whole thing about dragons being the opposite gender of their Rider. Something to think about. Hmm.....

ok heres some ideas how broms sword got under the menoa tree during the last battle between the rider and the forsworn brom and morzan were in a huge arial combat over du weldenvarden and morzan knocks broms sword out of his hand just as they fly past ellesmera and brom cant land because then he would reveal the location of ellesmera to morzan so they fly out of duweldenvarden and land and without a sword brom cant fiht so his saphira trys to protect him and thats when she is killed then morzan captures brom and takes him to uru baen to torture him 4 info but while hes there oromis and gladre break free and take brom with him
I think orik might become the rider of the green dragon this would make a closer relationship between the dwarves and the dragons and that would help make a happily ever after ending
I think glaedr and orimis will die and the next rider will be arya. I also think that eragon will kill galbatorix with arya.
I think that Arya will be the next Dragon rider and will finally give in to Eragon. I think that Istandzi will die and Eragon will marry her. He will also find Broms sword under the Menoa tree. Because Bros dragon was blue and named Saphira too. I think that Katrina when rhey rescue her will have the last dragon egg. But the Razac will catch them and kill Katrina but Ergon kills one and Roran kills one. Roran marrys nausuada and rules Alagasia Eragon Is fighting Galbatorix and Mutaugh with arya. Galbatorix is about to kill Eragon when Arya frees Murtaugh of his promise and he kills Galbatorix
I think that Arya will be the Rider of the green dragon because her magic is green and because of what cp said about ur magic being the certain colors. I also believe that Arya was in love with Faolin, one of her gaurds, because he made her the magic flower, Arya wouldn't tell eragon anything about him, and arya had a fairth on the wall in her room (apart from the one of her father) of an elf that had to have been him. I think that eragon will kill galbatorix, such is the nature of things, and oromis and glaedr will somehow die in the process of that. I believe eragons weapon under the menoa tree is the first eragons sword. eragon will probably try to bring someone back while at the vault of souls (im guessing brom). im very confused with blagdens riddle in eldest but im thinking it concerned brom being eragons father while eragon and murtagh are still brothers thru selena, murtaghs father was morzan, eragons father was brom...? who knows bout that one! I think murtagh will sonehow become good-perhaps he is released of his binding oaths when eragon kills galbatorix and he and nasuada will fall in love. Finally i think that eragon and arya go on the boat to a new land with their 2 dragons in the sky. eragon and arya would be in love while saphira and arya's dragon are in love!

Galbatorix got stronger with each Rider killed, so maybe he imprisons their souls and uses them to gain power. That would explain why when Eragon went into Murtaugh mind, their where a bunch of voices crying for help. They where the souls of the fallen riders! So with the vault of souls, maybe Eragon goes there, releases the souls, therefore, weakening Galbatorix enough to kill him!

Okay, here are a few of my predictions:
1. When Solembum stated that when Eragon has no weapon, look under the roots of the Menoa Tree. This could possibly mean a FAMILY TREE. As two families posses the weapons for the blue and green rider. Eragon, in my opinion, will recive Brom's old sword.
2. I think that Brom is Eragon's father also. Well it is impossible to tell a lie in the anchient language, if you do not believe it is a lie, you can say. And Galbatorix could have lied to Murtagh. Also, Saphira said that Brom had told her some things that she would not tell him until the time was right.
3. I believe it is not possible for Roran to be the next rider. As everyone stated, he has Selena's blood, but not Morzan's. Also, in the end of 'Eragon', I believe it is stated that Arya's magic is green. But, this would be too obvious to reveal the green rider. I think that it will be somone no one suspects or Arya. But I DO NOT think it could be Roran.
4. As many think, someone precious to Eragon will die and he must go to the Rock of Kuthian and bring them back. It could be many people (Saphira or Arya) but this I think would be almost too obvious. His power will be insufficent. Possibly, Oromis will die and he knows not who could further teach him. So, maybe, he will bring Brom back to finish his training.
5. Islanzadi, as many think, will die and making Arya queen. But, if Arya IS to become queen, she would not be able to leave with Eragon as the vision in Deathwatch reveals. It is a slim chance, but possibly someone else could be the green dragon rider (A girl) and go with Eragon. I know that this is a small possiblity, but all predicitons are possible until the release of the book.
6. I think, also, that possibly Nasuada and Murtagh marry, but in secret. And someone from the Varden finds out and they shun Nasuada. This is a far fetched idea, also, but cannot be completely discluded.
7. Even though more agree Eragon will kill Galbatorix, I heard someone say that Shruiken will turn on him as Eragons fights him. Shruiken will kill Galbatorix then. This is slightly unheard of, but some people do believe that this will happen.
8. This is probably something that most people would not think about, but I think that Roran, if Eragon and he possibly fail at saving Katrina, will snap at Eragon and join Galbatorix. I think that so far throughout the second book that he was more selfish. And if Katrina were possibly killed in a rescue attempt that he would blame Eragon for that and that he will also openly blame him for Garrow's death. I do not think that this is too likely, but it crossed my mind when I was reading the second book more towards the end.
Those are all the predicitons I currently have. Though several are unlikely, until the final book comes out, they can not be discarded from thought.

i think its a really good idea that Galbatorix imprisioned the dragon riders souls and uses them to get stronger. but it dosent make sense on how he get them i dont think it says anywhere that you can imprison peoples souls.
rohan could possibly be the next rider cause in the limited edition of eldest they give u a couple chapters into the third book. Eragon and rohan both go into a cave to get katrina and get knocked out and thats when it ends but if they are brought back to the king rohan will be in range of the egg and he might touch it at some piont.

I still have my money on Roran being the third rider. The title of the series is "Inheritance," and obviously Murtagh and Eragon are brothers. You would think their ability to hatch a dragon comes from their father, a rider. BUT their mother is a decedent of the kings. If what's really to be inherited is the royal blood line and the rule of Alagaiesa, than Roran is fair game as well, being their cousin.

You are all saying who the egg will hatch for, but Galbatorix currently has the egg. I think Elva will take the egg, since she is a child and can predict things. The egg will hatch for someone, I think Arya. That agrees to his dream.

i think that galbatorix's dragon will leave him and join eragon and saphira and be ridden by vanir (the original rider) as vanir has good magic and sword skills and knows lots about the ways of the riders then the green dragon egg will hatch for roran. then eragon will go to the vault of souls and bring back brom but galbatorix will kill him and murtagh will kill katrina therefore roran and eragon are so angry that they build up energy and kill galbatorix breaking his spell on murtagh causing murtagh to be good again but roran will be so angry that he will kill him anyway and eragon will be so angry that he will not take roran back with him and the elves and roran is the one screaming for forgiveness at the boat and eragon will do the right thing and accept him

Galbatorix will die but not by Eragons mere power or elfishness. Arya will be the third dragon rider, all evidence points thus (fortune telling and dreams) Roran may be king, because why else would CP develop him as so much as a natural leader. almost half of Eldest is about him and royal blood still ran in Palancar Valley. noone will be resserected with magic. Brom said that beyond life there is an abyss in which magic means nothing (paraphrased) not all the power in the world could ressurect someone. the vault of souls, maybe but i have my doubts about that to. i think Arya has always liked Eragon but knew that showing it would (for lack of a better word) distract him. it also says and implicates that elves are extremely good at hiding their emotions. Oromis WILL die. End of story. CP has made that blaitently obvious. the story would be way to happy if he didn't. Brom is almost definitly Eragons real father. Murtagh only knew that they had the same MOTHER and implicated from there. Selena spent time with Brom after she escaped the castle. When Eragon asked "did you know her?" Brom answered "well enough to miss her when she was gone." i think he was only showing the tip of the iceberg. and Brom lived in Palancar valley for 15 years (ever since Eragon was born.) And then theres Bladgens prediction to consider. You also have to consider the timing of the revelation of Morzan being Eragons father. RIGHT AT THE END OF A THE BOOK!! he CP could have set it up to make us find out in the third if Murtagh was telling the truth even though he believed it. I don't think Murtagh will turn good and if he does he will die short after.

We all know that the books are great... but arguing about something over and over agian like all these commemts have been doing are ridiculous. What we need to do as readers, and as fans of the series, is to not hinck about it. Christopher has done an excellent job developing the story and the characters. If he is half the author we thinck he is, he'll read all of this hype, and blogs, and comments, and decide to surprise us. So don't worry yourself about the small stuff..... Enjoy what you don know, and wait for the author to make HIS statement...... May your swords be sharp......
Theres one key point that everyone is missing!!! If there is a vault of souls at helgrind then Galbatrorix would know about it. Meaning that when his first dragon died he would have just resurrected him using the vault. So no one is going to come back from the dead. I think that the only thing the vault of souls does do, is give Galbatorix more power from the souls inside it. This is why Galbatorix is gaining power every minute because everyone the razac has killed, their soul is put into the vault and its energy transferred to Galbatorix.
So when Eragon gets to the vault he is going to release the souls, this is where Brom will probably talk to him because if you remember he was killed by the Razac as well, and Galbatorix's power will go back to normal giving Eragon the edge needed to beat him.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was thinking about solumbums prediction/warning and the word root can als mean past. so i reread the story about the tree and i think the 2 families in the story have 2 remaining rider swords that the great elf armour lady talked about. this could broms old sword(blue...FINALLY) and a green one for Arya or who ever is the next rider. I think that Eragon will end up killing murtagh and galbitorix because he will be cornered by them I hope CP will hurry up because im tired of reading the same thing over and over. Ok, back to the whole what Brom's fading words are, its pretty obvious that he was going to reveal Eragons true identity now that you know what happens in the second book. Anyway, In the third book, I beleive Eragon is going to find Galbatorix to be a dumb witted oaf, and will kill him in the first 100-200 pages or so. I think that Murtagh actually took control of Gaolbatorix mind and is leading Urabaen through Galbatorix. Eragon will kill Galbatorix early on in the story and Shurikan will be released from the spell binding himself with Galbatorix. Shurikan will help Eragon to defeat Murtaghs empire, and towards the end, Shurikan will find his old rider hiding in the Varden. The green egg will not hatch to anyone as it was meant for Selena. Also, in the cave where Eragon found Saphira with all the broken eggs when she was injured, they will explore farther back to find three more eggs. The story will end when on his deathbed, Oromis announces Eragon has completed his training and Eragon will go forth to kill Murtagh. However, the ruler of the new untainted world won't be anyone we're familiar with.

What if Katrina becomes the next rider? It might make sense. Galbatorix probably has her captive and if she's escaping on her own and finds the egg, maybe she'll take it for some reason and the dragon will hatch for her.
Hey corey u have forgot one thing about the dragon hatch thing. It did say there has never been a dwarf rider it could be orik. i doubt but it could be arya or orik and there has been a elf rider remember orromis but still i think it will be this percent arya 65% and orik 35%
Wow...I think there are a lot of speculations. Personally, I hope that Roran is the third rider, since he's related to Eragon and Murtagh, the other 2 riders. Everything everyone says seems to make sense, until you read another person's comment, so I just can't wait until the third book comes out and the TRUTH IS KNOWN!

i think arya will be the next dragon rider because the dragon riders magic is always the same as its dragons scales and when arya breaks through the cealing in Eragon, she has green magic in her hand. and i think Eragon will try to raise brom from the dead if anyone. galbitorix will find the name of the ancient language and try to use it and it kills him is a posibility. or murtage will turn good at the last minute and either kill or help kill galby in the end. roran will definatly become ruler of alegaesia. there is tons more stuff i think will happen but those are just the things that come to mind and i thought id share them wiol puminara ilia.

I think the weapon under the Menoa tree is just absorbing the power from it or whatever... Also, Arya might not be the next rider, yes, her magic is green.. but then what about all the other spell casters, their magic are all different colours probably, if not then what colour are they?
I hope the net rider is a dwarf. That'd be pretty sweet considering there's never been one before. But I really don't think it'll be Arya. I mean, come on. It'd be WAY too obvious.
i think Murtagh and Katrina will get married because galbatorix will probably force them to. news will travel to Eragon&Roran and then Roran will want to kill them both.Roran will not for give katrina.on the to kill them, eragon remembers abt the last egg tht Saphira could mate with because he feels pity for her.so he feels tht he should save the egg before 'G' turns it into evil.

I think that Eragon should bring the old eragon back from the dead
Kvetha Fricaya, I have a lot of ideas but I will attempt to structure them as much as possible to make it easier to read
Firstly, Murtagh And Nasuada. I would first like to point out to everybody that the reason Brom made such a big deal about not being able to bring someone back from the dead is that, you cannot bring back someone from the dead! Okay now, throughout the first book it was hinted at many times that Murtagh and Nasuada have feelings for each other. It also said at the end of the second book, “Though the bulk of their forces was remained intact, the Empire had sounded the retreat, no doubt to regroup and prepare for a second attempt to invade Surda.”. Now, what if near the start of the third book there is a small battle where the Varden route the rest of the Empire’s army but Nasuada gets killed, (much like how Ajihad got killed in a small battle with five urgals at the start of the second book). This would throw the Varden into chaos and ,more importantly, cause people to doubt her leadership as Christopher Paolini said would happen. This would also cause Murtagh a lot of grief and would effectively incapacitate him for at least part of the book. He could even be driven mad in a similar manner to how Galbatorix was driven mad by the loss of his dragon. In this madness he could very easily be driven to attempt to bring her back to life only to die in the process.
Secondly, the Menoa tree. I disagree with people who say that he has already received his weapon under the Menoa tree (His new abilities and appearance), because Solembum says, “When the time comes and you need a weapon look under the roots of the Menoa tree”, this implies intent i.e. he actually has to be looking for a weapon. I believe that the weapon will lie in the history of the Menoa tree and that this is what Solembum means by the ‘roots’. I believe that either Linnea’s family or the family of one of the other two elves will possess one of the riders’ swords, (possibly Brom’s thus hinting at the very name of the trilogy, inheritance).
Thirdly, the rock of Kuthian. Solembum says, “When all seems lost and your power insufficient, go to the rock of Kuthian and speak your name to enter the Vault of souls”. He never says that Eragon will get any extra powers. I believe that once he has entered the vault of souls he will simply be able to limit Murtagh’s And Galbatorix’s powers. This is supported in the second book when Eragon attempts to break into Murtagh’s mind it says, “The consciousness of the Rider felt strange to Eragon, as if it contained multitudes; scores of distinct voices whispering in the cavern of his mind, like imprisoned spirits begging for release”, and I propose that from within the Vault of Souls Eragon will be able to free those souls diminishing the powers of both Murtagh and Galbatorix.
Fourthly, the grey folk. Magic can have very unexpected results. Blagden is a prime example of this. The grey folk cast the greatest magic spell that there ever was or, most likely ever would be, so it is possible that it had a major side effect. The grey folk bound magic to the ancient language, so isn’t it conceivable that they, the original speakers of the language, also got bound. The elves/dragons are considered to be more or less all knowing, and they both believe that when the body dies so does the soul, so, I ask you, what are the spirits that shades/sorcerers/sorceress’ summon? I propose that the are the remains of the grey folk.
Fifthly, Eragon’s father. I agree that it is possible if not likely that Brom is Eragon’s father. The main evidence to support this fact is that of what Blagden says, “While two may share two”, translation, while Eragon and Murtagh may share two parents… “And one of two is certainly one”, translation, one of the parents is certainly the same (Selena)… “One might be two”, one of the parents may be two people (Morzan and Brom). He also says, “Son and father alike, both as blind as bats”. Referring to Eragon being as blind to Murtagh’s betrayal as Brom was to Morzan’s. The third piece of evidence is that Brom moved to Carvahall around the same time that Eragon was born. Angela also foretold that Brom once loved someone but that his feelings were ultimately her undoing. If Brom met Selena at the same time Morzan did then by getting her pregnant with Eragon he caused her to leave, which was ultimately her undoing.
Sixthly, Roran. He will obviously rescue Katrina, but to put it simply I doubt Roran will become the new Rider, for two main reasons. The first is that it is widely accepted that he will become the new ruler of Alagaesia, but Eragon also said that, “we cannot even wait for him to die like a normal ruler”. The new king will not be a rider. Secondly he loves Katrina as much as Eragon loves Saphira. He would not want to be a rider because he would then have to go on while Katrina grows old and dies. He would feel bad that he would not be able to die and join her (The people of Carvahall, believe in the afterlife, as shown in their treatment of Garrow, Byrd and the others who died).
Seventhly, who is the new rider then? There is really only one possibility. Christopher has already said that there have been hints throughout the first to books so it cannot be anyone new. Because they don’t have much time to train the new rider must be at least fairly competent already, this eliminates most of the humans (While it is conceivable that Trianna or one of the other members of Du Vangr Gata be comes the new rider I think that it is very unlikely). And most of the elves only come into the story in the second book so most of them can be eliminated (again due to the facts that there have been hints throughout both books). And of course the Dwarves can be eliminated because they cannot be Riders. Given this evidence I’m sure you will come to the same conclusion I did. Arya. She is the only logical choice.
Eighthly, Eragon and Arya. I predict that they will get together. My main evidence is that if she does be come a rider then her dragon will almost certainly be Saphira’s mate, which will influence Arya likewise towards Eragon. Plus there is also the fact that it is a simple staple of this genre that the main character overcomes great obstacles to be with the one that he loves.
Ninthly, Angela. There have been hints throughout the series that Angela is more then just a simple witch. Some of these include, her being a member of the Varden, her travelling with Solembum, the twins being unable to search her mind, her having a dragons knuckle bones, her having a huthvir and her hinting that she is really older then she looks, are just a few.
Tenthly, just a thought. When Eragon asks Orik if he was married Orik says he is engaged. Eragon asks if Hvedra is a member of Durgrimst Ingeitum to which Orik replies, "Do you think I would dishonour Durgrimst Ingeitum by marrying outside my clan?". Does this mean that Eragon will be expected to marry a dwarf from Durgrimst Ingeitum. It's just a thought.
Sorry that it was so long but these were just a few of may theories that I thought I would share with you. I may or may not post more at a later date.

I think that it is quite obvious that eragon and arya will get together and that the third egg will be hers. i also think that the reason they lave is to try to find more dragon riders somewhere else to bring them back to anglesia.

1. Why is no one speaking of Garrow?? Maybe he was also a Rider and had the power to forcee the future or maybe he was stripped of his powers, etc...
2. No one knows from where Ajihad has come? Maybe he is the son of the King whom Galbatorix deposed and killed.... Thus Nasuada will have royal blood... and maybe the next rider/Eragon's girl...
3. Maybe Brom has given Eragon the charm/words to pull the energy from elements... which should be used in dire need or Eragon can be simply overwhelmed of the extra power....
4. Brom might be the father of eragon... but i guess this will be told somewhere near the middle of the book...
5. Vault of souls might indeed give Eragon the power of all the dead Rider souls... Maybe Rider's sould go there when Rider's die....
6. I guess Roran will die saving Eragon in the end... I feel this because atleast one/many of the important characters will die... He will do this maybe because Katrina dies when being rescued...
7. Orik will indeed become the dwarf King... but i guess the clan who rebelled against Eragon will fight a big internal war with Orik and in the end Orik will prevail...
8. Orimis will die a natural death as he anyways cant fight and also both him and the Golden Dragon are crippled...
9. Murtagh will turn good and maybe have himself killed by Eragon or kill Galbatorix in the end by turning against him...

Murtagh says that Eragon's true name is known to G... Isnt that a big problem? Or maybe G thinks that the name which Eragon gave to Shade in Prison is his true name...

Maybe..... Just maybe.... the words which have been given by Brom... Have some way to make the enemy to forget all his knowledge and/or power...because of this... It will be worse for G to lose all his powers and to forget ancient language (like what happens to Eragon when he is drugged...) and maybe he is the person who is crying on the beach from where eragon is leaving as Eragon is the only person who will be able to revive him / remove his binding curse...

WHAT IF Murtagh dies, but eragon brings him back to life. But before that eragon, in the brief moment of distraction when murtagh dies to galbatorix, eragon places a spell on him that prevents speech, so he cant speak murtaghs true name. That way, the two brothers will be able to kill Galbatorix together. AND if the 3rd rider is there, they can all kill galbatorix together. A fitting end either way. i realize that dragons die without their riders, but maybe not right away. Also, maybe the vault of souls gives him the power to take 1 person back when he wants to. then he might save it for a time of desperation, or a time he feels it truly appropriate. SO maybe thats how it ends. I'm just guessing, tossing ideas around if you will. AND AND AND if soemone already posted this, i'm sorry 'cause i didn't read most of the 1340 comments.
I think that brom left his sword with the menoa familly and that it's in the familys routes that he will find his weapon. I agree that Area should be the dragon rider. because the other most likely people are Nasuada and Roran. but they don't have time to train the next rider and they'll need the rider right away. So Area should be the next dragon rider.

I think that all the dragons were not destroyed. But in hiding and eragon finds them and purswayds them to join him to defeat Galbatoric.

This is probably very off track and imaginative (wrong as well) but Angela said that Eragon would one day he would leave Alagaesia, but could that mean that he doesn't sail away but simply changes the very nature of Alagaesia which would technichally be leaving it.
Moving on to reality...
I think the nexy Rider will be Katrina. These are ALL of the possible new Riders: Roran, Katrina, Arya, Orik, Nasuada and Vanir.
Since this is a book you can automatically knock out anybody who already has a destiny. Roran is destinied to become king of alagaesia. CP said Nasuada will become unpopular amond the Varden so becoming a new Rider would make the plot twisted. It can't be Ori because he is destinied to become king of dwarves. Vanir was a character made to help devolop Eragon's strength. Arya is, similar to Vanir, that love should not be put in front of the greater good. That leaves Katrina.
i think that orik is the next rider just because there never has been a dwarf rider. i think that this will be the best book to come out in a long time
what if sapfira somehow saved brom by
making the sandstone crystal? that would make sense. and i think that arya will be the next rider. and that
oromis will die with glader. as well as nasuda and murtagh will marry as well as arya and eragon.
You know how Eragon tried to get inside Murtaugh's mind (when he was fighting him in Eldest) and he said he felt the presence of many souls? Well maybe the Vault of Souls is a place where the Ra'zac put the souls of the people they "ate" and Galbatorix and Murtaugh draw power from these souls! This would also explain how Galbatorix keeps getting stronger every year AND why Galbatorix enlisted their help and allowed them to "eat" whoever they pleased.
This book is going to be an absolute masterpeice if it is as good as the first 2.
I think MAYBE(although this isn't very likely) Katrina will be the next rider, she will somehow fall in love with Eragon, and when they leave on the boat, Roron is the one crying on the beach?

all this talk of how brom lost his sword under the menoa tree is crazy it said in the last book that 2 familys have rider swords one should be blue the other should be green to match the colours of the dragons.

Eldest mes oldest of three or more not two three I think Christopher P. knew that and wondered when someone would finally figure it out so maybe eragon has more siblings than just murtaug?

this prob wont happen but it would mak a nice twist if eragorn had to choose between arya and saphira as when he used the energy from the menoa tree it sapped the eves power?
therefore the elves had to retuen to alalea and eragorn could go with arya but saphira couldn't come to because she had to rebuild the dragon race

I may be way off but... in my opinion... Katrina did nothing special or noteworthy to warrant any reader following other than that story line bringing Roran to rally the village into fighting and thus finding Eragon. Other than her being useful to that story line... I'd have to say I think the makings of a great final chapter would be that Katrina dies and Roran ends up falling in love with Nasuada leaving them to be the King and Queen... which makes more sense.... I don't believe Roran will be a rider
A few more comments...
1: Brom lost his sword and begged the elf who made them to make him another. If it was retrievable I'm sure he would have looked for it... but instead he kept Morzan's sword so ... end of story line... that was all just to show why/what/etc. I think the elf will give in and make Eragon his own sword.
2: Eragon's mother had spells around her and wouldn't have had Eragon by another man... Morzan is Eragon's father... don't know why anyone would still think Brom was. I think Brom MAY have been Selina's father which would explain how Morzan met her to begin with... making Brom Eragon's grandfather.
3: Orik can't be a rider because as stated... the dwarf people were never part of the bonding pact. I think he will take Harothgar's place as king though because he was his nephew and adopted son.
4: Eragon cannot die. Angela already told him through the dragon bones (which never lie) that his future shows a long life... all she said she was unsure of is whether it was long compared to normal or long as in forever.
5: Unless they bring in a new character the only person who could possibly be the rider for the last egg is Ayra. The dragon chooses the rider... being the bloodline of a rider doesn't necessarily make them a rider by rights. Ayra so far is the only choice and I can't see them making her a rider if they continue having Eragon falling in love with her... her years and experiences are already what holds them back so that would make it a no go all of the way around.
6: Eragon is already finished training as a rider. Ormis told him that after answering the question of what he learned there normally would have been a celebration for him becoming a full rider and that there was nothing more he could teach him. And, we forget that Ormis already taught him things he said was never taught to the riders but may help him defeat Galbatorix
I think that Eragon and Roran will kill the Ra'zac and Roran will stumble upon a green Dragon egg in the Ra'zac's hide out. He will take it with him to the varden where they find it has already hatched in Roran's bag and Roran will join Eragon in training with the Elves. Their they will find the weapons under the Menoa tree and Oromis's dragon will show Saphira the vault of souls and Eragon will get a ultimate reward. Also Arya will die and in love for Arya, Eragon will bring her back to life and murtagh will reverse the oath he made and he will turn good.I also think their is an army of greyfolk in the spine which answers what killed half of galbatorix's army.

i think when eragon opens the vault of souls he finds out that he is the first rider recarnated and gains all his knowlage and powers and is made into a true elf. as for brom being his father quite possible. the green egg comes from a wild dragon who gives it to arya and she becomes a rider.

i havent read all of these predictions, since there are about a billion, so if im repeating someone im sorry.
i think that eragon will find the name of the ancient language and use it to get rid of galbatorix's hold on murtagh (however you spell it) and to keep galbatorix from using magic, since eragon could'nt even hold up to murtagh, and galbatorix is definitely much stronger. also, this is a bit out there, but since brom's grave is now crystal, eragon may just keep pumping energy into it, (since crystals and such hold magic the best) possibly from the vault of souls, and use that massive amount of energy to bring brom back.
another little note, the only race that is native to alagaesea (again, however you spell it) is the dwarves, so there are still humans, elvs, urgals, and ra'zac elsewhere in the world. i dont know how this is important, but im sure someone can think it up.
also, ive read a lot of people saying that since blagden never met morzan, he can't have been talking about him. why? blagden was given the power to predict stuff, and i don't think that a power that mystical is limited by something so mundane as meeting them.
as for far out predictions, which are the most fun to read, i think that katrina will be the woman of noble birth angelia talked about, since the blood of kings stayed in palencar valley. roran would have to die, though, and thats uncool, since i like the thought of some joe schmoe defying the current government more than a powerful guy defying the government, like eragon.
i could probably keep going, since i just thought all but the first paragraph up just now, but im thinking that some sleep would be cool.

i think that galbatorix will try to kill eragon but murtagh will jump in front on his blade. When Murtagh is killed, galbatorix will be so stunned that eragon willl have the upper hand and kill him. what about Vanir becoming the rider? he is an elf and eragon said he is very young.

I know when the next book is coming out. It will be out in September 23,2008. I read this in a internet page by Christopher Paolini. He also says that there is goingto be a fourth book. I think Arya will be the next dragon rider.
I think that Orimis IS Eragon. When did the say the first rider died?!? That would be a pretty important part, yet the never mention it.

I think Brom is Eragons father because Angela says that Beom loved someone and she left Brom because he told her how he felt and she left him. Also because he said a lot of things that were good about Selen. When Selen she must of reliszed that Morzan was bad and went back to Brom and had Eragon in secreat.
I don't think Roran or Arya will be the next rider because I think that it has to be human and a female, but its possible that it could be one of them. I also think that eragon will make a sword for himself like the ones the riders of old used.

About the menoa tree, i think that the secret weapon isn't really a Wepon and that it is some sort of power sorce that Eragon is able to extract and gain enough power to kill Galbatorix. about the new rider i think it is Arya only because she has been trained, and she is highly skilled in combat. as you may know about the war when Ajihad died, Arya was doing serious combat. about Rowan, i think he's going to rescue Katrina, but during the process get badly wounded, referring back to the part when Eragon miracuosly saved saphira after she was bittne by the black magic dragon, Eragon might heal Rowan, and from that point on Rowan might promises to fight along side with him, and to help him kill Galbatorix.

i think both roran and arya will both become dragon riders. arya will get the green dragon and roran will get galbatorixs dragon. if u remember in book 1 murtagh(or galbatroix i cant remember)lost his dragon and couldnt get another one. so the killed a rider and took their dragon. so when roran and eragon are saving katrina eragon kills galbatriox with the sword from under the tree, roran will gain control of the dragon and then he will become the king of alagesea.
I think that elva will definetly be the new rider, that child is going to no doubt serve some important purpose. and even though i hope he dose not. I think Oromis will die
I think that Eragon is going to get a new sword, seeing as Murtagh has Misery, from under the Menoa Tree. And i dont think that the Rock of Kuthian is for dead souls. Because Solembum said, "When the time comes when it seems like your power is inneficient, go to the rock of kuthian and speak your name." In Eldest, Murtagh turned out to be alot stronger than Eragon was, so that would be the "power seeming unefficient" part. And Somlembum said "When you need a weapon, look under the Menoa Tree", and now Eragon needs a weapon. 1+1=2 RIGHT?
I also think that Arya will be the next rider... who else fits the part perfectly. It would tie in all the romance, conflict, and mystery of the second book quite nicely.
I think that Arya is very sad, becasue she was in love with Foalin, but he was killed by Durza and his crew in the first book. He is the one who made that flower for Arya, and Arya never told Eragon about him when he asked. She told Eragon about Glenwing, but not about Foalin... wonder why?
i think the next rider will Arya because there hasn't been a female rider for a long time and also think that eragon will kill Galbatorix to help Murtagh also i think that the only reason ayra avoided eragon when he said he loved her is because she didn't want to destract him from his duty coz they have been waiting for him for a number of yrs and i also think that she felt the same way he did and that i think she could have an arranged marriage being princess and all she might have an arranged marriage that her mother set up and she dosent want to hurt eragons feelings since his feelings are more stronger now he is like 1/2 elf and all. Roran i think sould be the next king coz it is in his blood thats my very long prediction i won't write more otherwise it would like be a least 4 pages long !!!!!
